Job Title: Senior Customs Compliance Analyst Salary: £33,108 – £35,000 per annum (depending on experience) Location: Springvale or Larne (hybrid – 3 days in office) Benefits: 25 days annual leave Up to 10% bonus Contributory pension scheme – Caterpillar will double the employee’s contribution up to 6% Contributory share scheme – Caterpillar will match 50% of the employee’s contribution. The opportunity We are looking for a Senior Customs Compliance Analyst to join the Cat NI Customs team within Electric Power Division (EPD). As the Senior Customs Compliance Analyst, you will control the ongoing management of customs compliance activity to ensure Caterpillar prime and aftermarket product continuously moves both domestically and across international borders with adherence to regulatory and legislative requirements. This position is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in driving customs compliance functions for Caterpillar sites in Larne, Springvale, Desford in support of Caterpillar’s global practices. The successful candidate will report to the Customs Compliance Manager. What you will do: Support preparation and submission of UK and NI Customs reporting to HMRC. Demonstrate a high level of technical analysis for business reporting purposes, and review the various outputs for reasonableness and accuracy before submission to the relevant government bodies. Participate in business strategic planning initiatives when required. Contribute towards the development, testing and implementation of new and existing reporting procedures, work processes and business metrics, for ongoing compliance with UK and EU legislation to mitigate potential penalties. Liaise with HMRC and Caterpillar Trade CoE. Monitor third party performance in relation to agreed customs compliance expectations. Advocate an awareness of customs throughout the business through the provision of training, general support and guidance. Support with other ad hoc activities. What you have: International Trade – Level Working Knowledge: Knowledge of international supply chain processes including incoterms Experience of importing and exporting procedures An understanding of the potential impact of Brexit on a UK based business Analytical Thinking – Level Working Knowledge: Approaches a situation or problem by defining the problem or issue and determining its significance. Uses logic and intuition to make inferences about the meaning of customs and business-related data and arrive at conclusions. Managing Multiple Priorities – Level Working Knowledge: Ensures the preparation and submission of UK and NI Customs reporting to HMRC is within the month end reporting time frame. Recognizes changing demands and priorities; validates changes with management. Responds to day-to-day operational priorities while still making progress on project work. Performs at least 2-3 concurrent activities without reducing productivity. Effective Communications – Level Working Knowledge: Ability to communicate effectively and timely with internal and external stakeholders and ensure the message is clear and understood. Degree/Experience: A degree in a comparative business related discipline or extensive relative experience with ability to demonstrate practical standard of competence in customs compliance. Top candidates will have: Experience of SAP order to cash, procure to pay and record to report cycles. Familiar with Customs compliance workbooks and associated self-audit processes.
