Salary: from £32,665 depending on experience

Location: Larne, NI

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Cat NI Risk & Compliance Team as a Risk & Compliance Associate. As global regulatory requirements and compliance expectations continue to evolve, this role offers the chance to play a key part in supporting the business's commitment to ethical operations, risk management, and regulatory compliance. Working collaboratively with colleagues across Compliance, Operations, and the wider business, you will contribute to critical compliance activities including due diligence, governance, product classification, record management, training support, and risk mitigation initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for a data confidant, detail-oriented professional who is keen to develop their compliance expertise while making a meaningful impact on the organisation's compliance culture and operational excellence.

Additional Info: Occasional travel may be required. The role is based in the office 4.5 days a week in Larne.

What You Will Do:

  • Act as support for the wider Compliance team, by carrying out due diligence and screening (e.g. End Users, Cat NI Visitors, EPD Pcard transactions, Third Party Intermediaries, as required).
  • Classification of products and parts, in accordance with enterprise standards and following business unit processes.
  • Record keeping governance for the NI Compliance team.
  • Support the NI Compliance team by assisting with general governance of processes and systems to ensure there are no gaps and by taking proactive steps to address any risks which may arise.
  • Assist with the development of Compliance communications and trainings on relevant matters, as required.
  • Support any other compliance related projects as required.
  • Proactively keep up to date on relevant laws and regulations, and attend training as required.

What You Have:

  • Process Management: Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand, monitor, update, control, or enhance existing business or work processes.
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviours.
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Data Gathering and Reporting: Knowledge of tools, techniques and processes for gathering and reporting data; ability to practice them in a particular department or division of a company.

Top candidates will have:

  • A basic understanding of compliance, audit, or risk management principles, including an awareness of how organisations identify, assess, and manage operational and regulatory risks.
  • An interest in governance, compliance, or risk management, with a willingness to develop knowledge of audit and compliance processes within a regulated business environment.
  • Expert user of Excel and other data technologies such as PowerBI, Power Apps etc.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to join a global diverse business, as part of the wider Compliance team. You will liaise with colleagues at all levels across the enterprise and deepen your understanding of current compliance risks and the steps we can take to effectively manage those.
