What You Will Do

As a Tooling Technician within the Torque Team, you will be responsible for the repair, calibration and installation of all tooling for the production facility.

You Will Specifically Be Accountable For Driving

  • Calibrate, repair and maintain all production torque tooling used on site
  • Maintain calibration and service records of tooling
  • Support the production line throughout all production periods, responding to breakdowns where required
  • Work with tooling service providers where required to facilitate diagnosis and repair of specialist equipment
  • Responsible for the booking in/out of tooling and keeping records
  • Maintaining in-house spares stock and co-ordinating the ordering of replacements as and when required
  • Adhere to the company\\\'s Health and Safety policy and safe working practices
  • Adhere to Caterpillar\\\'s Values in Action: Integrity, Commitment, Excellence, Teamwork & Sustainability
  • Undertake training/further learning as required

Basic Qualifications

  • Be self-motivated and have the ability to work on your own initiative, with limited supervision
  • Ability to work closely with others is imperative, requiring team participation to achieve the agreed objectives
  • Good problem-solving skills, necessary to get to the root cause of issues
  • A strong mechanical background / good dexterity
  • Flexible approach to the job role and responsibilities, including availability for out of hours working as and when the job requires
  • Flexibility for multiple shift patterns, in response to changes of the business needs
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organization skills
  • The ability to read, comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions/procedures
  • Competent in IT systems, especially Microsoft Office applications

Top Candidates Will Also Bring

  • Established experience as a Maintenance or Tooling Technician in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience working with DC Tooling and their associated software
  • Previous experience using Desoutter CVI NET software
  • Experience in a maintenance environment; Stripping down / re-assembling equipment
  • Knowledge of WiFi networking / connected tooling and associated processes

What You Will Get

Job Title: Tooling Technician - Torque Team

Salary: £27,855 rising to £29,279 once fully competent - (following initial training this role will benefit from an afternoon shift premium)

Contract: Permanent

Benefits: 27 days annual leave + bank holidays, Bonus, Share Scheme (50% Company Matched), Contributory Pension Scheme (Company contributions double up to 10%), Free Car Parking, Caterpillar Advantage website

Location: Desford, Leicestershire

Hours: 37.5 hours a week
