As part of the Power and Energy Procurement Platform Team, you work within a Defence environment at the Caterpillar Shrewsbury Facility, managing supply‐network procurement to support CSD targets.

Job Responsibilities And Duties

Accountable for managing commodity portfolios, liaising with Category purchasing and the facility to create competitive advantage.

Identify opportunities for improvement in a low‐volume Defence and commercial environment.

Operate and monitor the Power and Energy Procurement functions to meet response time, cost, quality, and lean targets.

Manage suppliers using QCLDM methods to ensure continuous improvements.

Conduct supplier audits and visits to meet facility demands and resolve issues.

Launch and manage purchase orders for prototypes and production, ensuring contractual flow‐ terms are met.

Drive total cost of ownership, continuously sourcing opportunities to achieve cost reduction and containment.

Communicate with all business disciplines to align sourcing activity with strategy and targets.

What You Have

Job‐related experience within a purchasing environment.

Proven experience managing low‐volume, complex, small‐spend supplier base.

Analytical, problem‐solving, project leadership skills.

A professional qualification in Purchasing (CIPS) preferred.

Technical Requirements

Knowledge of QAD EE preferred.

Quality, lean manufacturing knowledge and understanding of lean principles.

Previous Six Sigma Greenbelt/Blackbelt experience preferred.

Knowledge of Defence Procurement preferred.
