About IPSD: Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L Cat® and Perkins engines that power over 5000 applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. The Opportunity: We are looking for a creative, hands‑on, enthusiastic Social Media Specialist to lead and grow our social media presence across multiple platforms. You will be responsible for developing and creating engaging content, building online communities, increasing brand awareness, and driving audience engagement. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who understands digital trends, enjoys creating compelling content, and can turn insights into impactful organic social media strategies.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with business goals
  • Write, schedule, and publish engaging content across platforms including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, WeChat and YouTube
  • Manage day‑to‑day social media activity and community engagement
  • Monitor social media trends, competitors, and emerging platforms
  • Plan and execute organic social campaigns to increase reach, engagement and lead generation
  • Collaborate with enterprise and divisional marketing, sales and creative teams to ensure brand consistency
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and lead social media guidance and training
  • Analyse campaign performance and provide regular reports with actionable recommendations
  • Build relationships with influencers, partners and brand advocates
  • Manage social media calendars and ensure content is delivered on time

What You Will Have:

  • Promotion and Marketing Communications: Knowledge of different promotional and marketing communication techniques; ability to use different marketing channels and tools in combination to focus on how a business communicates a message to the market.
  • Proven experience in B2B social media strategy creation and management
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience using platform insights and Google Analytics
  • Knowledge of SEO, AEO, and content marketing principles
  • Deep expertise in social media strategy and management
  • Marketing, Communications, or related degree qualification
  • Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions
  • Experience managing multiple brands
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Creative mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors and peers
  • Effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to transmit, receive and interpret ideas accurately
  • Knowledge of external provider management processes and ability to effectively manage business relationships with external providers

Additional Info: The role may require up to 25% travel (domestic and international). The role is based at the Peterborough facility 5 days per week.
