Salary: £49,500 + (depending on experience)

Location: Peterborough

About IPSD: Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L Cat® and Perkins engines that power over 5000 applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Role Definition: Managing a material planning team supporting multiple facilities' production requirements, defining processes and structure to optimise efficiency across the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating with multiple functions, such as manufacturing, procurement, etc., to acquire appropriate requirements to meet development and accuracy standards.
  • Managing day-to-day activities of material planning staff; supporting them with high complexity and high value component supply.
  • Participating in planning inventory and defining optimal inventory levels and adjustment authority; monitoring inventory levels using parameters to mitigate supply risk.
  • Coordinating NPI and NSI activities for material planning.
  • Lead process improvements and standardisation across the group, and support project work.
  • Ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures; implementing loss prevention procedures and practices.

Degree Requirement: Degree or equivalent experience desired.

  • Inventory Management - MFG: Knowledge of processes and methods of inventory management; ability to effectively manage local or distributed inventories of raw materials, work‑in‑progress and finished goods.
  • Logistics Management: Knowledge of logistics and management; ability to follow proper processes and run operations for effective and efficient movement of materials and finished products.
  • Performance Management: Knowledge of successful performance management techniques; ability to apply organisation’s performance management system, practices, and tools to developing and improving individual, team, and organisational performance.
  • Planning and Organising: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organise both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognising, anticipating, and resolving organisational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Supply Chain Management - MFG: Knowledge of functions, principles and techniques used in supply chain management; ability to develop and use strategies, practices and tools for controlling the logistical processes.
