Responsibilities
- Follow documented standard work procedures to perform safe, defect‑free assembly of parts and components using hand/power tools and lifting equipment.
- Work on several stations to cover planned and unplanned absences.
- Train and coach Assembly Technicians and Apprentices on standard work instructions.
- Operate BCP built machines where required.
- Utilise Caterpillar Production System principles of continuous improvement, waste elimination, and standard work.
- Participate in product/process improvement dialogues as needed.
- Cover the Team Leader’s role in their absence.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe work area in line with 5S and TPM.
- Adhere to the company’s Health and Safety policy and safe‑working practices.
- Act in line with Caterpillar’s Values in Action: Integrity, Commitment, Excellence, Teamwork, Sustainability.
- Undertake required training and further learning.
Qualifications
- High assembly or mechanical aptitude and accuracy.
- Initiative and strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Ability to use hand/power tools and lifting equipment.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow verbal and written instructions and procedures.
- Attention to detail, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with various levels of the organisation.
- Willingness to undertake required training and learning.
- Ability to work a multi‑shift pattern.
Preferred Qualifications
- Thorough working knowledge of assembly duties and build experience.
- Experience in RCCA.
- Fully flexible approach to the role and responsibilities, including willingness to work overtime.

- Salary: £28,900 starting, rising to £30,450 once role competencies are met
- Benefits: 27 days annual leave + bank holidays (option to buy or sell); Production Bonus; Flexible Buy‑In Benefits such as Private Medical, Health Care, Dental Share Scheme (50% Company Matched); Contributory Pension Scheme (company matches up to 10%)
