Join Caterpillar's Business Administration Apprenticeship program, a 15‐month Level 3 qualification designed to develop key business skills while contributing to our Manufacturing Operations.

Program Overview

Our apprenticeship scheme offers on‐the‐job training supported by experienced mentors and 20% of your working hours devoted to college‐based learning with Bournemouth & Poole College, leading to a nationally recognised Level 3 Business Administration qualification.

Apprentices earn a competitive salary, starting at around £18,252 per year for a 39‐hour week, receive 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, and benefit from a 5% annual bonus, flexible benefits, share scheme, pension, flexible working opportunities and family‐friendly policies.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Work three to four days per week within the Wimborne facility, gaining hands‐on experience across key departments.
  • Rotate through Purchasing, Sales and Finance to develop a broad understanding of business operations.
  • After the rotation phase, settle into a more permanent role, applying the skills acquired.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the site, participating in cross‐functional projects.

Qualifications & Entry Requirements

Minimum of four GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, including English and Maths; or equivalent A‐levels or Level 3 qualifications. Degree holders without previous experience in the field are also eligible.

Recruitment Timeline

  • Go Live: 22 December 2025
  • Closing Date: 15 February 2026
  • Interview Date (in‐person): March 2026
  • Employment Start Date: 1 September 2026

Recruitment Process

  • Stage 1 – Online Application: Complete the application before the closing date. Successful candidates will be informed of progress.
  • Stage 2 – Assessment Centre: A half‐day assessment includes group exercises, an interview and a presentation, evaluating teamwork, decision‐making, communication and problem‐solving.
  • Stage 3 – Offer: Following the assessment, the Caterpillar team will review feedback and extend offers swiftly.

A dedicated Engagement Day will allow new apprentices to meet their colleagues before starting on 1 September 2026.
