Key Responsibilities
- Create, maintain and peer review standard works documentation for preventative maintenance activities and use of machine tools within the department.
- Develop and document safe procedures for all planned maintenance tasks as well as the creation of dynamic systems to control unplanned works.
- Review requirements to ensure that maintenance team are competent to the standard work processes.
- Mentor trainees and apprentices driving their development into future maintenance engineers.
- Provide technical assistance whilst developing knowledge to fault find on both mechanical and electrical issues, including sourcing of spare parts and the setting of spare parts stock management.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Project experience, driving process improvements and capital investments.
- Understanding of techniques used to diagnose problems and malfunctions in a wide variety of manufacturing equipment.
- Examples of development of procedures for preventive and reactive measures to help improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Mentoring experience of trainees or apprentices.
- Understanding of maintenance planning processes and systems to meet best practice and regulations.
- Experience creating process instructions/standard work and risk assessments.
- Experience with COSHH assessments and best practices of use of chemicals such as metal working fluids.
- Understanding of using CAD modelling software packages for layout development and design of bespoke items supporting maintenance needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Level 3 qualification in engineering or manufacturing or equivalent experience, ideally a time-served maintenance apprenticeship.
- IOSH Managing Safely certification.
- Project management qualification, Green Belt or equivalent.
- Experience of Contractor management and permitting.
- Leadership experience.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: starting salary of £37,900 rising to £42,000 once fully competent.
