The Opportunity
As a Quality Technician within Pre‑Delivery Inspection, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality of machines leaving the Desford facility, supporting continuous improvement and delivering products that meet the highest standards.
What You Will Do
- Conduct audits on parts and partially or fully built machines in line with takt time and inspection standard work.
- Record and maintain accurate defect data using electronic systems, manual processes, and visual management tools.
- Communicate quality issues clearly and support operational teams in resolving defects.
- Participate in defect investigations and improvement activities to address root causes.
- Support and guide new team members to uphold quality standards.
What You Can Demonstrate
- Audit & Quality Control: Conducts structured audits on components and machines, applying Built‑in Quality standards to consistently identify non‑conformances and ensure products meet required specifications before leaving the line.
- Defect Analysis: Identifies, records, and investigates defects using root cause analysis methods, enabling effective resolution and preventing repeat issues to improve overall product quality.
- Assembly Knowledge: Applies a practical understanding of assembly processes to assess build quality, ensuring inspections are accurate, efficient, and aligned to takt time and production requirements.
- Communication & Teamwork: Works collaboratively with cross‑functional teams to clearly communicate quality issues, support problem‑solving, and drive timely corrective actions that minimise disruption.
What You May Have
- Knowledge of PDI: Supports pre‑delivery inspection activities to validate machine readiness and ensure final products meet customer expectations.
- Attention to Detail: Maintains accurate and structured defect records, ensuring all quality checks are thorough and reliable to support traceability and continuous improvement.
