Contract: Permanent

Full Time: 37.50 hours per week

Salary: £28,969 rising to £30,450 when role triggers are met

Responsibilities:

  • Follow documented standard work procedures/instructions to perform safe and defect free assembly of parts and components, using various hand/power tools and lifting equipment provided in the work area.
  • Work on several stations to support planned and unplanned absences.
  • Train/coach Assembly Technicians/Apprentices to standard work instructions.
  • Operate BCP built machines where required.
  • Follow and utilise Caterpillar Production System principles of continuous improvement reporting, waste elimination and standard work.
  • Actively participate in product/process improvement dialogues as required and drive continuous improvement within the work area.
  • Keep the work area clean, tidy and safe in line with 5S and total preventative maintenance (TPM).
  • Adhere to the company's Health & Safety policy and safe working practices.
  • Adhere to Caterpillar's Values in Action: Integrity, Commitment, Excellence, Teamwork.
  • Undertake training and further learning as required.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstratable high level of assembly or mechanical aptitude and accuracy.
  • Able to operate BCP products (training will be provided).
  • Have a fully flexible approach to the job role & responsibilities (willing to work overtime).
  • Ability to read, comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions/procedures.
  • Ability to use hand/power tools and lifting equipment.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Able to work on own initiative and be self-motivated.
  • Effective communication skills to liaise with various levels of the organisation.
  • Good problem-solving skills, necessary to get to the root cause of issues.
  • Willing to undertake required training/learning.
  • Relevant NVQ level 2/equivalent or higher.
