As a Team Leader in Logistics, you motivate employees on the production line and ensure resources are used effectively to meet targets while maintaining the highest safety standards.
What You Will Do
- Lead the team to meet daily goals and continually monitor and audit Health and Safety, People, Quality, Velocity, and Cost metrics.
- Champion safe working practices and undertake training and further learning.
- Generate and work on Continuous Improvement ideas using the CI process, maintain a 100% versatility skills matrix, and keep standard work updated.
- Participate in Rapid Improvement Workshops (RIWs) for Safety, Quality, Velocity, and Cost within your team operation.
What You Can Demonstrate
- People: Coach, motivate, evaluate, and recognise employees; identify skill gaps and develop training plans to build high‑performing teams.
- Logistics Operations: Demonstrate a good understanding of logistics practices and material systems.
- Safety: Proactively manage safety standards, comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations, and foster psychological safety and open communication.
- Process Improvement: Evaluate logistics methods and promote continuous improvement using lean, Six Sigma, and innovation.
Top Candidates Will Have
- Experience using SAP and material systems to manage parts, track issues, and support the team in meeting daily targets.
- Ability to conduct basic risk assessments and follow safety rules.
- Hands‑on logistics or production experience (NVQ Level 2 or above, or equivalent); use standard work and processes to support team performance and improvement.
