Overview

Accounts Receivables Manager – 12 months contract at Caterpillar Inc. Location: Peterborough. Salary/Grade: £47,000 – £52,000 pa (depending on experience).

Posting dates: September 25, 2025 – October 9, 2025. This role is part of the Financial Services team and involves supporting a team of credit controllers, ensuring timely customer payments, and handling overdue payments in line with company risk policies. It requires building strong customer relationships and collaborating with internal partners to drive customer satisfaction and business goals.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and manage a team, providing strategic direction and ensuring effective execution of controls.
  • Cultivate a collaborative and high-performing team culture through continuous development, mentoring, and training initiatives.
  • Execute Caterpillar’s internal accounting practices to ensure timely customer payments whilst mitigating financial risks and observing credit insurance guidelines.
  • Prepare and deliver reports on aged debt performance, communicating key insights to senior leadership and other stakeholders to support strategic decision-making.
  • Represent the AR function in the deployment of a new ERP system for North American legal entities; lead testing, process migration, and change management to ensure successful implementation.
  • Own month-end tasks, ensuring timely completion and accurate reporting in line with deadlines.
  • Support the management of credit insurance policies across local and international markets, ensuring adequate coverage and compliance.
  • Provide leadership and/or contribute to broader team initiatives as needed.

What You Have / Qualifications

  • Strong leadership, initiative, interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively across complex internal and external organisations.
  • Understanding the value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with a high level of precision.
  • Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools/techniques (e.g., Power BI, Alteryx) and good knowledge of accounting and financial accounting.
  • Fluent in Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of process improvement techniques (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean).
  • Prior experience in fast-paced manufacturing/industrial environments or debt collection/credit finance/insurance.
  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or relevant qualifications (e.g., CIMA, CFA, ACCA, CPA) or equivalent.
  • Experience with financial reporting process controls (e.g., Sarbanes-Oxley).
