Job Summary:
We are looking to recruit two Supplier Quality Engineering Technicians to support the ongoing development of our Supplier Quality capability at CAT Shrewsbury. This role sits within the Supplier Quality Pillar and plays a key part in ensuring that both internally manufactured components and externally sourced parts meet the required standards to support safe, capable, and right‑first‑time production. Working closely with Quality, Process, and Operations teams, the SQE Technicians will support inspection, investigation, and continuous improvement activities, helping to ensure that quality issues are identified early, understood clearly, and addressed at source.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting internal and external supplier quality activities, ensuring components meet specification and are fit for purpose
- Coordinating and supporting inspection and measurement activity, aligned to control plans and engineering requirements
- Working with Quality, Process, and Supplier Quality teams to support structured investigations and root‑cause analysis
- Contributing to the development and application of inspection methods, measurement strategies, and SPC
- Supporting the identification and monitoring of critical‑to‑quality characteristics
- Collecting and interpreting data to support fact‑based decision‑making and improvement activity
- Helping ensure alignment between internal processes and supplier quality expectations
- Supporting continuous improvement activity by identifying opportunities to enhance capability, consistency, and efficiency
