Salary Grade: ÂŁ19.72 ph

About IPSD: Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L Cat® and Perkins engines that power over 5000 applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Job Summary: An opportunity has arisen for a Calibration Engineer to work with the maintenance team within the Shrewsbury business. Successful candidates must be self-starters with the enthusiasm and tenacity to succeed. There is a requirement for this candidate to be self-sufficient in day-to-day activities. This includes a pro-active and thorough approach to calibration and organising calibration. The individual will have the ability to navigate various business systems and provide clear and concise input to the maintenance team and support groups as and when required. Additional training, if needed, will be provided to the successful candidate.

What You Will Do:

  • Collecting equipment across site and sending it to external companies
  • Collecting equipment for internal calibration
  • Perform internal calibration
  • Occasional test bed/channel calibration
  • Liaise with Norton to organize external calibration
  • File and organize certification
  • Liaise with quality auditors

What You Have: Candidates will have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:

  • Experience of general maintenance within factory environment
  • Experience of using hand tools
  • Ability to work well within supervision
  • Self-discipline to follow simple instructions in Health & Safety and Quality
  • Knowledge of Calibration
  • Organizational skills
  • Computer literate skills
  • Electrical qualification advantageous but not essential
