Salary: £55,500 - £83,000 (depending on experience)

Location: Wimborne

About Caterpillar Marine Power UK: Caterpillar Marine Power UK is part of Caterpillar Oil, Gas and Marine Division. The company designs, tests and manufactures and exports 0.5 to C7.1L Cat® and Perkins marine engines and gensets. Caterpillar is a Fortune 100 company.

Job Summary: Ensure compliance with the enterprise and business division's ethical standards and examines any non-compliance issues, including the evaluation and examination of the adequacy of internal controls. Monitors and evaluates import/export operations; ensures compliance to applicable global trade laws.

Additional Info: Travel – approximately 5% internationally. There is a requirement of 5 days in the office per week when not travelling.

What You Will Do:

  • Designing and implementing daily procedures and reviewing/assessing activities against internal control standards.
  • Directing and participating in the risk and compliance education of the organization, ensuring ongoing and follow up education including regulations, policies, procedures and trends.
  • Developing, initiating and revising policies and procedures for the general operation of the business unit's compliance program and its related activities.
  • Identifying potential risk and compliance vulnerabilities; developing corresponding corrective action plans for resolution of these issues and providing guidance for use in future situations.
  • Interacts with business customers to answer questions and solve problems; advises on global trade related issues.
  • Monitors global trade regulations and advises the business on the impact of changes.

Risk Management

Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds; ability to apply knowledge of risk management appropriately to diverse situations. Level: Extensive Experience.

Analytical Thinking

Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems. Level: Working Knowledge.

Audit and Compliance Function

Knowledge of major responsibilities and tasks of Audit and Compliance (A&C) function; ability to manage the operation of A&C function in various business environment. Level: Working Knowledge.

International Trade

Knowledge of the markets, issues, regulations, practices and operations of international trade; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately in diverse situations. Level: Extensive Experience.

Standard Operating Procedures

Knowledge of established standard operating procedures (SOP); ability to design, implement and evaluate standard operating procedures affecting daily and strategic business operations to increase operational efficiency. Level: Extensive Experience.

Degree Requirement: Degree or equivalent experience desired.
