The Opportunity
As the Supply Chain Planning Manager, this role sits within the Logistics planning section of the Supply Chain. As a Section Manager, you will lead teams in projects and supervise a team in Supply Chain Planning to ensure safety and maximise efficiency in quality, velocity, and cost. The individual is responsible for development, testing, and implementation of the Plan for every part supporting NPI (New Product Introduction) and continuous improvement efforts in incorporating Supply Chain performance for Fabrications and Subassemblies.
This position performs physical, tactical work across multiple functions to make improvements required to support the full end-to-end processes of all Supply Chain functions.
Job Duties / Responsibilities:
- Monitor and improve shop floor safety whilst eliminating unsafe processes.
- Drive safety first culture and ensure thorough accident and near miss investigations are completed and corrective actions taken.
- Make necessary resources available to support training to the Team.
- Schedule and prioritise constrained resources.
- Lead/participate in Gemba walks and provide actions/results.
- Lead the Team in gathering and analysing data on packaging BIQ, performance, and potential improvements.
- Lead Team through all stages of NPI end-to-end planning and processes.
- Determine and execute disciplinary action when appropriate.
- Implement, manage & coach Lean Manufacturing with Team Members.
- Initiate and conduct process improvement dialogues with Team Members.
- Drive root cause corrective action projects and drive continuous improvement.
- Communicate, update, monitor, and audit PQVC (People, Quality, Velocity & Cost) metrics continuously via meetings and walks.
- Lead the Team in gathering and analysing data on facility demand and demand variability for each part required for production.
- Develop material flow plans for all material from suppliers and made in works.
Skills, experience & qualifications you will have:
- Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
- Data Gathering & Analysis: Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes; ability to collect and synthesise data from a variety of stakeholders and sources in an objective manner to reach a conclusion, goal, or judgment.
- Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP): Knowledge of the process, issues, and considerations for systematically managing distribution of inventory for multiple plants or warehouses.
- Inventory Management - MFG: Knowledge of processes and methods of inventory management; ability to effectively manage local or distributed inventories of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
- Planning and Organising: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organise both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.
- Supplier Management - MFG: Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components.
- Supply Chain Management - MFG: Knowledge of functions, principles, and techniques used in supply chain management; ability to develop and use strategies, practices, and tools for controlling the logistical processes.
Top Candidates will have:
- Proven leadership experience within a Supply Chain / Logistics environment, including leading teams, projects, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of Supply Chain principles, including pull replenishment, material flow, throughput efficiency, and use of analytical tools.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments and with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to coach, develop, and engage others while fostering a positive and proactive safety culture (NEBOSH/IOSH certification desirable).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in root cause corrective action and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g. RIW, Value Stream Transformation).
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Word) and familiarity with tools such as Visio, Teamcenter, AutoCAD, and Creo.
- Experience working in fast-paced logistics or warehouse environments, with knowledge of Lean BIQ and RPRT considered advantageous.
