Salary: £34,455 - £38,000 (depending on experience)
Location: Peterborough, UK

The Opportunity: The selected candidate will become part of the Caterpillar IT team (Energy & Transportation Segment) located in Peterborough. This position involves supporting the Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) to avoid system disruptions and ensuring rapid response to IT incidents and requests to the manufacturing environment across all regional facilities.

The successful applicant will join a global team supporting comprehensive business operations, offering opportunities for professional growth and exposure to various business functions. Additionally, the role provides the opportunity to gain experience with numerous application technologies and IT architectures.

This is an excellent chance for a skilled technical IT analyst to enhance their capabilities by shaping and maintaining an IT solution for a major international organisation.

What You Will Do:

  • Customer Engagement: Work directly with customers experiencing IT issues and provide support and open communication. Collaborate with wider IT groups and keep end users and stakeholders updated.
  • Incident Analysis: Analyse issues to identify root causes and apply fixes. Test resolutions and confirm working before closing out with customers.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Apply routine patches and updates to ensure high level of service availability and minimise security risks. Review incident trends and apply permanent corrective actions to reduce ongoing incident volumes.

What You Will Have:

  • Core Application Systems: Basic Understanding of core applications supported by own area.
  • Problem Solving: Basic Understanding of a disciplined approach to problem solving.
  • Implementation: Basic Understanding of problems commonly associated with application implementation.
  • System and Technology Integration: Basic Understanding of system and technology integration concepts.
  • System Testing: Basic Understanding of standard processes and procedures involved in system testing.

Candidates will be able to demonstrate some of the following technical skills:

  • PL/SQL Packages
  • Redhat Linux Essentials
  • Oracle Forms / ADF
  • ITSM

This role is based in our office in Peterborough 5 days a week.
