Responsibilities:
- Follow documented standard work procedures to perform safe and defect free assembly of parts and components using hand/power tools and lifting equipment.
- Work on several stations to support planned and unplanned absences.
- Train and coach assembly technicians and apprentices to standard work instructions.
- Operate BCP built machines where required.
- Utilise Caterpillar Production System principles of continuous improvement, reporting, waste elimination, and standard work.
- Participate in product and process improvement dialogues and drive continuous improvement within the work area.
- Maintain work area clean, tidy, and safe in line with 5S and TPM.
- Adhere to the company's Health & Safety policy and safe working practices.
- Adhere to Caterpillar's Values in Action: Integrity, Commitment, Excellence, Teamwork.
- Undertake training and further learning as required.
Qualifications:
- High level of assembly or mechanical aptitude and accuracy.
- Ability to operate BCP products (training will be provided).
- Fully flexible approach, willing to work overtime.
- Ability to read, comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Proficiency with hand/power tools and lifting equipment.
- High attention to detail.
- Self‑motivated and able to work on own initiative.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with various levels of the organisation.
- Good problem‑solving skills, able to find root cause of issues.
- Willing to undertake required training and learning.
Preferred:
- Relevant NVQ level 2/equivalent or higher.
