Salary: Β£38,000 β Β£50,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity
As a Fleet and Automation Engineer you will play a key role in supporting the integration of automation and managing the performance of solutions and MHE fleet within the operation. Essentially, you will be the expert of how material gets moved. You will apply data-driven decision-making and drive continuous improvement to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and elevate service delivery.
The role will be accountable for, but not limited to:
- Making an impact by improving processes and assisting with the design, implementation, testing and validation of efficient, competitive logistics solutions such as AMRs.
- Coordinating stakeholders to align automation and mechanisation initiatives to achieve seamless integration into operations.
- Identifying and evaluating opportunities in fleet, automation, and logistics processes by analysing data and driving continuous improvement.
- Supporting with vendor management and the development of tools and dashboards to track assets, monitor solution performance and costs.
- Maintaining and improving the internal standards, knowledge, and tools; assuring their successful delivery in current and new operations.

- Collaborating: Proven ability to lead and contribute to collaborative projects. Skilled in engaging diverse stakeholders, facilitating shared goals, and coordinating across teams and regions to drive business outcomes.
- Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities. Skilled in gathering and organizing relevant data, assessing risks and alternatives, and making sound, informed decisions to support business goals.
- Problem Management and Lean Manufacturing: Skilled in managing warehouse systems and equipment (MHE, AMRs, HHTs, etc.), supporting core activities like receiving, picking, and packing. Able to track performance metrics, support automation initiatives, and translate business needs into equipment specifications.
- Warehouse Equipment Management: Proficient in managing warehouse equipment and automation systems (e.g. MHE, AMRs, HHTs). Applies Lean principles to resolve issues, reduce waste, and improve operational efficiency. Able to monitor performance, manage suppliers, and support automation initiatives aligned with business needs.
What You May Have
- Knowledge of SAP implementation and other WMS applications
- AutoCAD & logistical software
- Experience in Fleet and Warehouse Equipment Management Systems (FMS, WES etc)
- PRINCE2 or similar qualification
