The Opportunity
We are seeking a proactive Health & Safety Champion to support and strengthen our safety-first culture across operations. You will play a key role in driving health, safety and environmental improvements, coaching colleagues, and ensuring safe working practices are embedded across the business.
What You Will Do:
- Deliver safety capability by designing and leading training programmes that build knowledge and confidence across Team Leaders and Section Managers
- Drive safety performance by analysing data trends to identify risks and implement targeted improvements
- Coach and influence behaviours by providing practical, hands-on support to embed safe ways of working across teams
- Strengthen compliance by reviewing and maintaining risk assessments, ensuring adherence to health, safety and environmental standards
- Lead proactive safety activity by conducting safety walks, facilitating safety forums, and reinforcing accountability at all levels
- Support continuous improvement by contributing to investigations, CI processes, and promoting best practice across the operation
What You Can Demonstrate:
- Safety Awareness: Applies core health, safety and environmental principles to everyday tasks, actively identifying risks and promoting safe behaviours
- Communication: Delivers clear, effective messages that influence understanding and encourage adoption of safe working practices
- Coaching & Influencing: Guides and supports individuals and teams to improve safety performance through practical coaching and behavioural reinforcement
- Planning & Ownership: Organises and prioritises workload independently, taking accountability for delivering consistent and high-quality safety outcomes
What You May Have:
- Demonstrates commitment to developing formal health and safety knowledge, actively working towards recognised qualifications (e.g. NEBOSH / IOSH) and applying learning in practice
- Proactively identifies opportunities to enhance safety processes, using structured thinking to drive better, safer ways of working
- Uses tools such as Excel and PowerPoint to interpret safety data, communicate insights, and support informed decision-making
