As a Multi-Line Technician, you will operate as part of the production team responsible for the assembly of parts or components to produce Building Construction Product (BCP) machines, according to specified work orders. Working on several stations covering planned/unplanned absences. You will utilise lean manufacturing tools and techniques while operating to defined "tact times" and production sequences.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Follow documented standard work procedures/instructions to perform safe and defect free assembly of parts and components, using various hand/power tools and lifting equipment provided in the work area.
- Work on several stations to support planned and unplanned absences.
- Train/coach Assembly Technician’s/Apprentices to standard work instructions.
- Operate BCP built machines where required.
- Follow and utilise Caterpillar Production System principles of continuous improvement reporting, waste elimination and standard work.
- Actively participate in product/process improvement dialogues as required and drive continuous improvement within the work area.
- Keep the work area clean, tidy and safe in line with 5S and total preventative maintenance (TPM).
- Adhere to the company's Health & Safety policy and safe working practices.
- Adhere to Caterpillar's Values in Action: Integrity, Commitment, Excellence, Teamwork.
- Undertake training and further learning as required.
What You Can Demonstrate:
- Demonstratable high level of assembly or mechanical aptitude and accuracy.
- Able to operate BCP products (training will be provided).
- Have a fully flexible approach to the job role & responsibilities (willing to work overtime).
- The ability to read, comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions/procedures.
- The ability to use hand/power tools and lifting equipment.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Able to work on your own initiative and be self-motivated.
- You will possess effective communication skills to liaise with various levels of the organisation.
- Good problem-solving skills, necessary to get to the root cause of issues.
- Willing to undertake required training/learning.
What You May Have:
- Relevant NVQ level 2/equivalent or higher.
