We are looking for an experienced Receptionist for a luxury hotel in Ripon. Salary package up to £24k.

This country house hotel dates back to the 17th century and has entertained Queen Mary, became a convalescence home for injured soldiers in the Second World War, an adult training centre, and then a private residence until 2015 when it was privately purchased to undergo a multi-million pound transformation into Yorkshire’s latest luxury Relais & Chateaux hotel.

As a receptionist, you will continuously improve and enhance the service to guests, with enthusiasm and passion to work in a friendly and engaging restaurant team. You will be responsible for:

  • Greeting all guests (resident or non-resident)
  • Working alongside the restaurant manager and assistant manager to run shifts
  • Organising table reservations
  • Carrying out payment transactions
  • Providing first-class customer service with excellent communication skills, both face to face and over the telephone

The successful person will have:

  • Experience in a similar role within a high-level hotel or fine dining restaurant
  • PC literacy, understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • The ability to react to guests' requests efficiently
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Outstanding personal presentation and grooming
  • A punctual and reliable team player with a self-driven approach
  • A positive ‘can do’ attitude
