Great opportunity to join a 5 Red-Star property with a 3 Rosette Restaurant in Newbury. Working as part of the Sommelier team (7 Somms). Over 2,500 wine references. Opportunity to learn from an excellent Head Sommelier. 45 weekly hours. There is loads of training - tastings, supplier visits, external events. Accommodation available (about 5 miles from the hotel). Opportunity for career progression.

The Company: A very successful Hotel and Spa, where service and guest experience are paramount. The restaurant offers a fantastic 3 rosette gastronomic experience. A proud member of Relais & Chateaux, the hotel is the place to create memories that you will cherish for a lifetime. The Hotel is a temple to wine and has own European Hotel Wine List in 2015. 100 wines by the glass, 3,000 bottles and a great range of countries to keep anyone interested!

As a Junior Sommelier you will be responsible for:

  • A section of the restaurant.
  • Understanding the wine list.
  • Service of wine and beverages.
  • Upkeep of the cellar and wine vault.
  • Back of house duties.

You should be able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail, a natural passion for wine and the ability to offer a warm welcome and create an outstanding guest experience.
