An experienced and passionate Head Chef is required for a large, high-volume gastro pub in Preston, part of a well-established and reputable group. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a thriving kitchen, working alongside a supportive senior management team to maintain and elevate an already successful operation.

The Role

As Head Chef, you will be responsible for the overall performance and day-to-day running of the kitchen. Working closely with the General Manager and senior leadership team, you will play a key role in driving the food offering, maintaining high standards, and contributing to the continued success of the business. You will lead from the front, inspiring and developing your team, while ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency across all aspects of the kitchen. You will also collaborate with Executive Chefs on seasonal menu development and bring fresh ideas to enhance the offering. Strong financial awareness is essential, as you will manage stock control, labour costs, and GP performance to ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and profitably.

About You

We are looking for a confident and capable Head Chef with a passion for fresh food and high-quality dishes. You will be a natural leader, able to motivate and develop your team while maintaining a positive and professional kitchen environment. You should have:

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a busy, fresh food environment
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Excellent organisational and communication abilities
  • Solid understanding of kitchen financials, including GP and labour control
  • A passion for innovation and continuous improvement
