Overall purpose of the role: To help support the team with all aspects of school food - from creating special diet menus, delivering education sessions and undertaking projects around public health. The successful candidate should be a qualified nutritionist, with an interest in children's nutrition and school food. The role will be home-based however regular travel will be required to deliver training, lessons or attend meetings.
Main Responsibilities:
- Support with creating a wide range of special diet menus for children with allergies and intolerances
- Support with checking menus are compliant to the School Food Standards
- Undertake nutritional audits within Caterlink schools
- Deliver nutrition education sessions within Caterlink schools
- Manage school and parent queries around special diet through the nutrition inbox
- Manage sensitive pupil allergy information and medical evidence in line with GDPR regulations
- Attend parent or school special diet meetings, online or in person
Essential:
- BSc in Nutrition or Dietetics or equivalent
- At least Associate Registered Nutritionist with the Association for Nutrition or equivalent
- Experience in working with people with allergies and intolerances is desirable
- Experience using nutritional analysis system such as Saffron
- Numeric and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Professional, organised and self-motivated
- Passion for keeping up to date with research and changes in legislation
- Excellent IT skills
- Ability to manage a busy inbox efficiently, and work to deadlines
