- Manage and monitor cashflow, outstanding debt and customer accounts
- Oversee bank, supplier and control account reconciliations
- Manage month-end processes and prepare management accounts and financial reports
- Provide accurate financial information and reporting to senior management
- Monitor business performance, costs and margins and provide financial insight where required
- Support budgeting, forecasting and cashflow planning
- Act as the key point of contact for external accountants, auditors and professional advisers
- Prepare information for year-end accounts and other financial reporting requirements
- Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies and queries
- Ensure appropriate financial controls and procedures are maintained
- Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, systems and reporting
About You
We're looking for an experienced and commercially minded finance professional who is comfortable taking ownership and working across a broad range of financial responsibilities. You'll be organised, proactive and confident working independently, while also being a strong team player who can build positive relationships with colleagues, suppliers, customers and external advisers.
Requirements / Experience
- Previous experience in a Finance Manager, Management Accountant or similar senior finance role
- Strong understanding of financial processes, controls and reporting
- Experience overseeing purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control
- Experience working with external accountants or professional advisers
- Experience using finance or ERP systems (such as Sage, Exchequer, SAP, Dynamics, Kerridge or similar)
- Experience using IBCOS Gold would be advantageous, although this is by no means essential
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude
What's on Offer?
- Salary of £40,000-£45,000, depending on experience
- A secure, long-term position within a successful, growing business
- Genuine ownership and autonomy over the finance function
