We are recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to take overall responsibility for the safe, efficient and commercially successful operation of a busy logistics warehouse. This is a hands-on senior leadership role, responsible for people, performance, compliance, customer service and P&L, with a strong focus on continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day warehouse operations including goods-in, storage, picking, packing and dispatch.
  • Manage, motivate and develop warehouse teams, addressing performance, attendance and resourcing requirements.
  • Monitor key KPIs including pick accuracy, on-time dispatch, stock integrity and labour efficiency.
  • Prepare and present weekly site performance and P&L commentary, ensuring resources are fully utilised and flexed according to demand.
  • Control operational costs and identify opportunities to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Plan and optimise workflows, processes and labour to achieve service and performance targets.
  • Oversee FLT, MHE, WMS and inventory processes, ensuring operational readiness and stock accuracy.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean, 5S and other process improvement activities.
  • Maintain high standards of health & safety, compliance and site security.
  • Lead and support internal and external audits, ensuring the site meets required regulatory, customer and quality standards.
  • Build and maintain a strong safety-first and continuous improvement culture.
  • Act as a key point of contact for customers, suppliers, transport teams and internal stakeholders.
  • Resolve operational issues quickly and effectively to maintain agreed SLAs and service levels.
  • Support customer visits and operational reviews.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Warehouse, Logistics, Distribution or Operations Manager with a proven track record of leading a busy site. You will ideally have:

  • 5+ years’ senior management experience within warehouse, logistics or distribution.
  • Proven experience managing operational teams and developing people.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse processes, WMS and inventory systems.
  • Experience with P&L management, KPI reporting and cost control.
  • Experience leading internal and external audits.
  • A strong understanding of warehouse H&S, compliance and quality standards.
  • Experience delivering continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean or 5S.
  • Strong commercial awareness and customer/stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent decision-making, problem-solving and organisational abilities.
  • A proactive, hands-on leadership style with a genuine focus on safety, service and continuous improvement.

Working Environment

This is a full-time, site-based position within a warehouse environment. Flexibility may be required around operational demands, including occasional shift work, weekends or on-call responsibilities.
