Overview
Based at the company’s head office in West Yorkshire, the Scheduler manages and schedules field service engineers across a defined geographical region. The role involves planning current and future appointments, balancing engineer workload against skills and location, maintaining work in progress to meet customer service targets, and supporting first-time fixes through effective route and task planning. The company is a well-established healthcare business providing specialist mobility and patient care equipment.
Key responsibilities
- Manage engineers’ diaries daily, booking and rearranging appointments while maintaining an accurate order book.
- Schedule current and future appointments, considering engineer skills, location and job priorities to maximise productivity.
- Plan engineer routes effectively to improve efficiency and support first-time
- Manage regional work in progress, following up on faults, parts, servicing, held and quotation-required jobs.
- Plan preventative maintenance using historical trends to support customer requirements and equipment availability.
- Monitor and report on completed jobs, engineer productivity, service levels and downtime, raising purchase orders where required.
What we are looking for
Essential:
- GCSEs, including Maths and English (minimum 3 A-C passes).
- Accurate data-entry skills and good proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly
- Ability to prioritise and reprioritise workloads to meet customer service
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to review call history and previous visit details.
- UK driving license
Desirable:
- Experience working with field-based
- Experience within a healthcare, medical equipment or similar technical service
