Supply Desk is delighted to be working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Maidenhead to appoint a passionate and enthusiastic Early Career Teacher (ECT) for a KS1 class. This is a fantastic opportunity for a newly qualified teacher to begin their teaching journey in a nurturing environment with excellent support and guidance.

The Role
As a KS1 ECT, you will inspire young learners at a crucial stage in their development, supporting them in building strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, and social skills within a caring and engaging classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and creative lessons in line with the KS1 national curriculum
- Support pupils early development in reading, writing, phonics, and maths
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
- Assess and monitor pupil progress with support from senior staff and mentors
- Differentiate learning to support pupils of all abilities, including those with SEN
- Foster pupils confidence, curiosity, and love of learning
- Work closely with teaching assistants and experienced colleagues
- Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and the wider school community
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or pending QTS (ECTs welcome to apply)
- Passion for teaching and supporting young learners in KS1
- Good understanding of early learning and phonics (or willingness to develop this)
- Positive, proactive, and nurturing approach to teaching
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Desirable
- Experience from placements within KS1
- Familiarity with phonics schemes (e.g., Read Write Inc, Letters and Sounds)
- Understanding of safeguarding and inclusive teaching practices
- Willingness to learn and develop as part of an ECT programme
