Streamline Recruitment are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a Container Administrator to join an established and growing container haulage company in Stanford Le Hope.
This is an excellent opportunity for an organized and proactive administrator to support a busy planning team.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day administration of container movements, liaising with drivers, customers, ports and internal departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Booking and managing VBS slots.
- Releasing PIN details and ensuring all relevant information is communicated accurately.
- Collating, checking and distributing transport paperwork and documentation.
- Chasing drivers for ETAs relating to port arrivals, deliveries and collections.
- Monitoring vehicle movements and updating the planning team on any delays or issues.
- Keeping customers informed of traffic delays, late-running vehicles and any changes to planned collections or deliveries.
- Updating internal transport and customer systems with accurate movement and job information.
- Communicating with ports, terminals, depots and other relevant parties regarding bookings, collections and deliveries.
- Checking job details and ensuring drivers have the correct instructions, addresses and reference numbers.
- Assisting with the administration of container collection and delivery jobs.
- Monitoring outstanding jobs and following up on any incomplete or delayed movements.
- Obtaining and recording PODs and ensuring paperwork is completed correctly.
- Dealing with driver queries and escalating operational issues to the planning team where required.
- Assisting with customer queries via telephone and email.
- Supporting the planners with general day-to-day administrative duties.

- Previous administration experience within container haulage.
- Experience of VBS bookings and port/terminal operations
- Confident communicating with drivers, customers and operational teams.
