We are recruiting for a Skilled CNC Engineer to join a well-established precision engineering manufacturer supplying high-quality components to demanding industries, including aerospace. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC professional who is keen to expand their skill set and develop expertise in centreless grinding as part of their day-to-day role. Working closely with the Production Manager, you'll play a key role in maintaining quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the production process.
The Role
As a Skilled CNC Engineer, you will be responsible for setting and operating a variety of CNC and manual machine tools while ensuring products meet exacting quality standards and customer specifications. Key responsibilities include:
- Setting and running CNC machines, lathes, and manual machines
- Learning and developing skills in centreless grinding
- Operating a range of secondary operation equipment, including thread rolling machines, part markers, drill banks, torque testers, depitching presses, and deburring equipment
- Producing components to tight tolerances and demanding quality standards
- Conducting first-off inspections and in-process quality checks
- Completing first-off buddy checks and production run inspections
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Identifying opportunities to reduce scrap, rework, and production inefficiencies
- Supporting on-time delivery targets and key performance indicators
- Completing daily maintenance checks and production records
- Maintaining a safe, organised, and efficient working environment
- Adhering to all health & safety procedures and quality standards
What We're Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous CNC machining experience within a precision engineering environment
- Strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing standards
- Ability to set and operate CNC machines independently
- Experience working with materials including: Aluminium, Stainless Steel, Inconel
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Confident using micrometres and working to tight tolerances
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Positive and proactive team player with excellent communication skills
Desirable Experience
- Previous grinding experience
- Experience operating thread-rolling equipment and other secondary operation machinery
