Machine Operator
Location: Snodland, Kent
Salary: £25,000
Shift Pattern: 4 on , 4 off (6am 6pm)
Alexander Steele are supporting a Global manufacturing business who are seeking a Machine Operator to operate and monitor production machinery safely and efficiently, ensuring products are manufactured to the required quality standards while achieving production, efficiency, and waste targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate production machinery in line with production plans and specifications.
- Carry out pre-start checks, line set-up, and routine cleaning activities.
- Prepare and replenish raw materials, packaging, and consumables as required.
- Monitor machine performance and resolve minor stoppages to minimise downtime.
- Perform quality checks and ensure products meet required standards.
- Complete production records and documentation accurately.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, housekeeping, and health & safety.
- Support the achievement of production, OEE, and waste reduction targets.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure efficient production operations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support training activities where required.
Skills & Experience
- Experience operating machinery within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Good understanding of health & safety, quality, and hygiene standards.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and under pressure.
- Basic IT and record-keeping skills.
- Food manufacturing experience and basic food hygiene knowledge are advantageous.
Salary: £25000 – £26000/annum
