Position: Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are currently looking for a caring, dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to work across schools in the Peterborough area from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make a positive difference to pupils' education, confidence and development.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide individualised support to pupils with a range of additional needs. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 or small-group basis
  • Helping pupils engage with their learning
  • Supporting pupils with their individual needs
  • Assisting with classroom activities and learning tasks
  • Encouraging confidence, independence and positive behaviour
  • Building strong and trusting relationships with pupils
  • Working closely with teachers and the wider school team

We Are Looking For

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
  • SEN experience is advantageous but not essential
  • A caring, patient and empathetic approach
  • Strong communication skills
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A positive and professional attitude
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
  • A valid DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for a new DBS
