Position: Full-Time SEN Teacher

Are you a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher with experience supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are currently looking for a caring, resilient and enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join a specialist SEMH school in the King’s Lynn area from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about making a genuine difference to young people’s lives and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.

The Role

  • As an SEN Teacher within this SEMH setting, you will plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to the individual needs and abilities of pupils.
  • You will work closely with Teaching Assistants, support staff and other professionals to create a safe, structured and positive learning environment.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging and accessible lessons
  • Adapting learning to meet individual SEN and SEMH needs
  • Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour
  • Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Promoting confidence, independence and positive attitudes towards learning
  • Managing behaviour calmly, consistently and positively
  • Monitoring and assessing pupil progress
  • Working closely with support staff, parents/carers and other professionals
  • Creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment

We Are Looking For

  • A qualified teacher with relevant teaching experience
  • Experience working with SEN and/or SEMH pupils is highly desirable
  • A patient, calm and empathetic approach
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • The resilience to work effectively in a challenging but rewarding environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • The ability to build strong relationships with pupils
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people
  • QTS is desirable/required, depending on the school
  • A valid DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for a new DBS
