Belmont Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Senior Care and Support Assistant to work with our client based in the Lowestoft area on a temporary basis. This is a full-time role working 36 hours per week, including alternative weekend cover. Shift patterns will vary from week to week, with shifts of either 7am4pm or 4pm10pm.
The Role:
- Provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to clients with very complex needs.
- Support clients to maximise their independence and maintain integration within the wider community.
- Assist clients with personal hygiene, dietary needs and medication.
- Support clients to access social and leisure activities and liaise with external agencies where required.
- Provide advocacy and support to clients and their families when appropriate.
- Promote safeguarding principles and ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients.
- Undertake risk assessments and promote safe working practices.
- Support team performance, coordinate shift cover and assist with staff training and development.
- Maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and address any shortfalls in service delivery.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of specialist services based on best practice.
Requirements:
- Recent experience in a similar senior care or support role.
- Experience of working with clients with complex needs.
- Experience of supporting staff and/or coordinating shift cover.
- Experience of delivering training is desirable.
- NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care or equivalent
- Medication training
- Manual Handling training
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Understanding of relevant legislation and best practice.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and communicate relevant information clearly.
