Prospero Teaching are seeking experienced Functional Skills Tutors to work with learners across Liverpool!

The Opportunity

We are currently looking for Functional Skills English and Maths Tutors to deliver personalised 1:1 tuition. You’ll support learners who may have gaps in their education or require additional assistance to progress. Your sessions will focus on developing essential English and Maths skills while working towards Functional Skills qualifications. The ability to make lessons engaging and relevant to the individual learner will be key.

Position Details

  • Location: Liverpool
  • Hours: 5-15 hours per week
  • Start Date: September 2026
  • Duration: Ongoing

Experience, Training and Qualifications

  • Experience delivering Functional Skills English and/or Maths
  • Previous teaching or tutoring experience
  • Strong literacy and/or numeracy subject knowledge
  • A flexible and learner-focused teaching style
  • Experience supporting learners with gaps in education is advantageous

To be eligible for this role, you must:

  • Hold the Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional references
