The Opportunity

We are recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer / Setting Out Engineer to join a major civils and groundworks contractor delivering two large distribution centre buildings in Hinkley, Leicestershire.

The overall project value is approximately £18 million and will involve extensive groundworks, foundations, drainage, reinforced concrete and external infrastructure. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an experienced project team and work on a large-scale commercial development.

The Role

You will provide day-to-day engineering and setting out support across the project, working closely with the Site Manager, Project Manager and groundworks teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Setting out foundations, drainage, concrete works and external works.
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Checking levels, coordinates and dimensions.
  • Providing engineering support to site teams and subcontractors.
  • Maintaining accurate QA and as-built records.
  • Assisting with inspections and quality control.
  • Identifying and resolving engineering issues on site.
  • Supporting the delivery of works to programme and specification.

Requirements

  • Previous Site Engineer / Setting Out Engineer experience.
  • Strong groundworks and civils background.
  • Experience with foundations, drainage and concrete works.
  • Good understanding of engineering drawings and QA procedures.CSCS Essential.
  • Own kit advantageous but not essential.
