Academics is seeking a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive mainstream primary school in Gloucester, working closely with a pupil who requires additional learning support. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about inclusive education and eager to help a child reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities – 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant:
Provide 1:1 tailored support for a pupil with special educational needs (SEN) to help them access the curriculum and thrive in the classroom.
Implement strategies and interventions outlined in the child’s education plan.
Support the pupil’s emotional, social, and academic development throughout the school day.
Work in close collaboration with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals.
Communicate effectively with parents/carers and contribute to progress reviews and reports.
What We’re Looking For:
Prior experience working with children, ideally in a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant capacity.
Background in SEN support (ASD, ADHD, speech & language, etc.) is highly desirable.
A caring, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting children with diverse needs.
A valid Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
Two professional references.
