Flood Risk & Drainage Engineer

The Role
As a Flood Risk & Drainage Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategies and detailed drainage designs for a range of development projects.
Your role will include:
- Preparing flood risk assessments and drainage strategy reports for planning applications.
- Designing drainage schemes using tools such as InfoDrainage and/or MicroDrainage.
- Supporting detailed drainage design for residential and commercial developments.
- Liaising with clients, council officers, architects, planning consultants and wider design teams.
- Providing clear technical advice through reports, meetings, emails and presentations.
- Attending design team meetings and supporting project delivery.
About You
- A relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, such as Civil Engineering.
- Experience in flood risk assessments and drainage design.
- Experience preparing reports for planning applications.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD.
- An understanding of relevant guidance including NPPF, CIRIA SuDS Design Manual, Sewer Sector Guidance and Building Regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good numeracy and problem-solving ability.
- Experience using Microsoft Office packages.
- A full UK driving licence.
Experience with fluvial and pluvial flood risk modelling, or S104 drainage design, would be advantageous.
