CAD Technician
Our client, a market leader in the design, development, manufacture, and supply of Stainless-Steel containment storage solutions is currently seeking a CAD Technician to join their Design team.
This is a full-time, permanent position, working 09:00 17:00, based in Eye, Suffolk.
This is an opportunity for an ambitious and talented CAD Technician with good knowledge of 3D CAD design to gain invaluable training, knowledge, and experience within a friendly and supportive Design team.
Essential Skills, Knowledge & Personal Attributes
- Effective task management, time management and communication skills.
- Proficient with Autodesk Inventor 3D, Solid Works, or similar 3D software and Auto CAD packages.
- Ability to work using own initiative to a high standard with excellent attention to detail whilst meeting deadlines.
- Computer proficient skills including MS Office Outlook, Word, Excel, and Microsoft TEAMS.
- Strong manufacturing/engineering background with good engineering and technical knowledge.
- Production of Bills of Materials.
- ERP system knowledge would be beneficial.
- Experience or knowledge of the use of i Logic, python, or similar coding would be beneficial.
- Desirable Degree/HND in an engineering/manufacturing qualification or equivalent work experience in a related role.
Duties and Key Responsibilities
- To contribute to the production and checking of approval, fabrication, and construction drawings to standard within a given programmed time.
- To contribute to the accurate compilation and checking of Bills of Materials/Parts lists for customer specific orders and effective release to production ensuring that these always reflect the current supply situation.
- To liaise with team members, customer representatives and manufacturing staff to ensure that the relevant information is available to manufacture the product effectively and in compliance with structural, cost, and contractual obligations.
- To assist with the continued implementation of Autodesk Inventor 3D and Vault Professional within the Engineering & Design Team.
- To utilise the principles of Design for Manufacture and value-added engineering throughout design undertakings where applicable.
- To utilise best practise and ensure that all designs eliminate hazards and reduce risks, as far as is reasonably practicable.
- To assist change and develop more efficient processes within the Engineering & Design team.
- To participate actively in Continuous Improvement, Lean initiatives and other activities to improve the overall efficiency of the Company, including via ISO 9001 accreditation.
- To ensure that duties are carried out in accordance with all Company policies, procedures and processes.
- To carry out any other duties that may reasonably be requested giving due regard to your existing status
