Duties of a Vehicle Technician
- Perform routine vehicle servicing and maintenance, inspecting components for wear and tear
- Conduct fault diagnosis and testing of faulty parts
- Support the preparation and maintenance of new, used, and loan vehicles
- Collaborate effectively with team members, sharing knowledge and skills
- Contribute to ensuring high quality standards within the workshop environment
- Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient working environment
- Support the development of technical skills through training and professional development
Requirements of a Vehicle Technician
- IMI/NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent
- Significant experience working within automotive workshops
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Hold a UK driving licence with minimal points
- MOT licence, hybrid vehicle technology experience, and familiarity with VAG vehicles are desirable but not essential
- Motivated team player with a high standard of workmanship
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy dealership environment
