We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a growing engineering and manufacturing business.
This role will involve the mechanical assembly, installation and fitting of large-scale industrial machinery and equipment. You will be working from engineering drawings and technical instructions to build, assemble and install mechanical components to a high standard.
The Role
As a Mechanical Fitter, your responsibilities will include:
- Mechanical assembly and fitting of large industrial machinery and equipment
- Working from engineering drawings, assembly instructions and technical specifications
- Fitting mechanical components including shafts, bearings, motors, gearboxes and other assemblies
- Using a range of hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment
- Carrying out installation, alignment and adjustment of mechanical components
- Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical faults where required
- Ensuring all work is completed accurately and to the required quality standards
- Working safely and following all health and safety procedures
The Candidate
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Machine Fitter, Assembly Fitter or similar
- Experience working on large industrial machinery, manufacturing equipment or heavy mechanical assemblies
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Strong mechanical fitting and assembly skills
- Experience using a variety of hand and power tools
- Experience fitting components such as bearings, shafts, motors, gearboxes and mechanical assemblies
- A strong understanding of health and safety procedures
