Are you an experienced educator ready to make a genuine difference to learners with special educational needs and disabilities?
About the Role
You will deliver engaging, inclusive teaching to students with a range of special educational needs and disabilities, adapting your approach to meet each learner’s individual goals. You’ll create a supportive and structured learning environment where every student can build confidence, independence and practical skills.
Working closely with support staff and colleagues, you’ll help learners progress towards their next steps, whether that’s further study, employment or greater independence. You’ll bring patience, creativity and a real commitment to inclusive education.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering differentiated lessons tailored to learners with SEND.
- Adapting teaching materials and assessment methods to suit individual needs.
- Monitoring learner progress and providing constructive feedback.
- Working collaboratively with support staff, colleagues and families to support each student.
- Maintaining a safe, inclusive and encouraging learning environment.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Experience of teaching or supporting learners with SEND
- A relevant subject or teaching qualification
- A patient, adaptable and inclusive approach to teaching
- A commitment to high-quality teaching and student development
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification for the further education sector
- Experience delivering entry level or lower level provision
- Knowledge of a range of SEND and effective support strategies
