The Role
Reporting to the Quality Manager, you’ll support the day‑to‑day activities of the Quality team, ensuring products, processes, and systems meet the highest standards.
You’ll work closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to identify improvements, investigate quality issues, and help deliver outstanding products to customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and maintain quality management systems and processes.
- Investigate quality issues using structured problem‑solving techniques such as 8D, 5 Whys and Fishbone analysis.
- Help reduce defects and improve manufacturing performance through continuous improvement initiatives.
- Carry out internal audits and support Factory Production Control (FPC) audits.
- Conduct incoming goods inspections and support supplier quality activities.
- Produce dimensional reports (ISIRs) when required.
- Support new product introductions, ensuring quality requirements are met.
- Maintain the calibration system, ensuring measuring equipment remains compliant.
- Work collaboratively across production, engineering and supply chain to resolve quality concerns.
- Assist with customer quality investigations and implement effective corrective actions.
- Promote a positive quality culture throughout the business.
About You
We’re looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment and has a proactive approach to quality and continuous improvement.
You’ll ideally have
- Previous experience in a Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering role within manufacturing or engineering.
- Experience using quality tools such as 8D, 5 Whys or Root Cause Analysis.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems and internal auditing.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment and metrology techniques.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
- Good communication skills and confidence working with colleagues across multiple departments.
- Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office. Experience with ERP systems would be advantageous.
