Academics Recruitment Agency is working in partnership with a well-regarded primary school in Monmouthshire, who are seeking a caring Teaching Assistant to join their Foundation Phase team from September 2026.
Working alongside the class teacher, you’ll support children throughout the school day, helping them engage with activities, develop their independence and feel confident in their surroundings.
This would suit a Teaching Assistant who enjoys working with younger children and understands that patience, consistency and a positive attitude can make a huge difference.
We’re looking for someone who
- Is patient, approachable and able to build strong relationships with pupils.
- Can follow direction from the class teacher while also using their own initiative.
- Is confident supporting early reading, phonics and basic numeracy.
- Understands the importance of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
- Holds an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or is willing to obtain one.
- Is registered with, or willing to register with, the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
- Can provide two recent professional references.

- Competitive daily pay.
- Holiday pay included in your daily rate.
- The opportunity to work in a nurturing Monmouthshire primary school.
- Support from an experienced education recruitment consultant who has direct experience working in schools.
- Access to ongoing short-term and long-term education opportunities.
- A September start with the possibility of a longer-term placement.
If you’re the sort of person who celebrates the small wins and enjoys helping children grow in confidence, this could be a fantastic opportunity.
Salary will be determined by the successful candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client’s pay policy.
