About the Role
As a History Teacher, you will deliver high-quality lessons that develop student's understanding of key historical events, themes, and interpretations. You will encourage critical thinking, analysis of evidence, and a deeper appreciation of how the past shapes the present.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging History lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Teach a range of topics such as medieval history, modern world history, and British history
- Support GCSE and A-Level History (where applicable)
- Develop student's essay writing, source analysis, and evaluation skills
- Assess, track, and report on student progress
- Contribute to curriculum development within the Humanities department
- Lead or support enrichment activities such as history clubs, trips, or museum visits
About You
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Degree in History or a related Humanities subject
- Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for historical study
- Ability to make history engaging, relevant, and accessible
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
- Willingness to contribute to wider school life and enrichment
