Were working with a market-leading specialist in building envelope solutions to appoint an Area Sales Manager for its Roofing & Cladding division, covering the Midlands and South West
This is an opportunity for a commercially driven sales professional to join a technically respected business and take ownership of a region with significant potential.
Youll be selling high-performance fastening solutions into major roofing and cladding projects, working across the project lifecycle and building relationships with some of the most influential names in the industry.
The opportunity
This isnt simply a role focused on selling products. Youll be identifying projects, influencing specifications, developing relationships and ultimately winning business.
Your territory will include large-scale industrial and commercial projects including industrial sheds and other complex building envelope applications where technical knowledge, commercial understanding and the ability to engage the right stakeholders can make the difference between winning and losing a project.
Youll work closely with sub-contractors, OEMs and distribution partners, as well as internal technical and commercial teams, to develop opportunities and deliver the right solution for the customer.
Youll also build strong relationships with key industry partners and major manufacturers, making this a highly visible role within the roofing and cladding sector.
- What youll be doing
- Taking ownership of sales performance across the Midlands and South West territory, delivering agreed turnover and profitability targets.
- Developing new business while growing and protecting existing key accounts.
- Proactively identifying and securing projects from early opportunity through to order.
- Building strong relationships with roofing and cladding sub-contractors, OEMs and distribution partners.
- Taking a consultative approach understanding customer requirements and providing technically credible solutions rather than simply selling on price.
- Working with stakeholders across technical, estimating, purchasing and contracts functions to influence and secure projects.
- The Candidate
- You must have experience within building envelope, roofing and cladding, fixings/fasteners or a closely related technical construction product environment.
- Proven experience in project-led or consultative sales.
- A strong understanding of the market and, importantly, the route to market.
- Experience developing relationships with sub-contractors, OEMs and/or distribution partners.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to balance customer requirements with profitable growth.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach to identifying opportunities rather than waiting for them to arrive.
- Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
