Looking for a field-based engineering role with more structure to your day?

Were looking for a Routine Maintenance Engineer to support customers across the Sheffield area, carrying out planned servicing and preventative maintenance on Komatsu construction equipment.

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in plant, construction machinery or mechanical maintenance who enjoys working independently, visiting customer sites and delivering a reliable, high-quality service.

Rather than focusing on reactive breakdowns, this role is centred around scheduled servicing, maintenance and machine inspections, helping keep our customers equipment running safely and efficiently.

What will you be doing?

As a Routine Maintenance Engineer, youll visit customer sites across the Sheffield area to carry out scheduled maintenance on Komatsu machinery.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and routine servicing
  • Completing scheduled Field Campaigns and KDPF replacements
  • Carrying out post-service walk‑around inspections
  • Identifying additional repairs, maintenance or parts requirements
  • Completing job sheets, RAMS and relevant service documentation
  • Carrying out site‑specific risk assessments before starting work
  • Following customer site procedures and safe working practices
  • Keeping customers and the service team updated on progress
  • Completing all planned work safely, efficiently and to a high standard
  • Providing a professional and reliable service to customers

What are we looking for?

You dont need to be a breakdown or diagnostics specialist. Were looking for someone with a strong mechanical background who is confident carrying out servicing and routine maintenance in the field.

Youll have:

  • Experience with heavy plant, construction, agricultural or similar machinery
  • Experience carrying out servicing, maintenance or mechanical repairs
  • NVQ Level 2 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Good practical and mechanical skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
  • Good understanding of health and safety requirements
  • Confidence working on customer sites

The following would be beneficial but are not essential:

  • SPA and/or CSCS certification
  • IOSH or similar health and safety training
  • IPAF training
