Our client is a global leader within the engineering space, providing innovative solutions to customers worldwide. They are looking to add an enthusiastic Buyer to their purchasing team, where you’ll play a key role in ensuring materials are ordered, tracked and delivered efficiently while working closely with both suppliers and internal departments.

Main Responsibilities for the Buyer:

  • Raising and issuing purchase orders
  • Chasing suppliers for delivery updates and outstanding orders
  • Updating the sales team with delivery information
  • Maintaining sales boards with the latest supply information
  • Adding order acknowledgements into the MRP/SAP system
  • Running shortage reports for customer orders
  • Raising requisition orders
  • Monitoring and updating delivery schedules
  • Communicating supplier price changes to internal teams
  • Providing ad hoc support to the stores department when required

Skills & Experience required for the Buyer:

  • Previous experience in a Buyer or Purchasing role
  • Alternatively, strong administration experience within a purchasing or manufacturing environment
  • SAP experience is essential
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities
  • Confident liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Able to prioritise workloads and work effectively in a busy environment
  • A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail

Salary & Working Hours of the Buyer:

  • Competitive (depending on experience)
  • Full-time, Monday to Friday
  • Salary: £35000/annum
